THOMAS1 BEALE, HARTFORD FOUNDER (THOMASA) was baptized 25 Mar 1599 in Biddenden, Kent, England and died 07 Sep 1661 in Cambridge, MA d. s. p. He married SARAH ______ in prob England. She was born in England, and died bef. 12 Dec 1678 in Cambridge, MA (inventory).

Although Thomas Beale is listed on the Founders Monument in Hartford, and had an allotment of lands in Hartford, he never moved there, remaining in Cambridge, Massachusetts where he lived since his emigration in 1634, and land sequestered for him in Hartford (one acre, two roods, and twelve perches on the east side of the Great River) was given to John Marsh before the land inventory of February 1639-40 was written. Though he must have had a home lot sequestered for him, no record of its existence can be found in any Hartford records.

In Cambridge he was selectman, hogreeve, constable, fenceviewer, lot layer and clerk of the market.

His will was dated 24 August 1661, he died 7 September 1661, and his will was proved 27 October 1661.

Genealogy: N/A, as he had no children
