SAMUEL1 GREENHILL, HARTFORD FOUNDER was born abt. 1603 in England, and died bef. 1637 in Hartford, CT. He married REBECCA TAYLOR, HARTFORD FOUNDER 24 Jun 1628 in Cranbrook, Kent, England. She was born abt. 1600 in England, and died bef. 04 Aug 1683 in Hartford, CT (not named in 3rd husband's will).

Samuel Greenhilll emigrated from Staplehurst, Kent, England to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1634, first residing in Cambridge, where he was freeman 4 March 1634/5. He removed to Hartford in 1636, and had a home lot of one acre on which stood his dwelling house, outhouses, yards or gardens, located on the corner of the road to Wethersfield and the road from the Mill to the South Meadow. He died by 1637, and his widow married Jeremy Adams, who adopted Samuel’s children Rebecca and Thomas.

Genealogy: not applicable, as his only son Thomas died before marriage, thus leaving no Greenhill line.
