JOSEPH1 EASTON, DEACON, HARTFORD FOUNDER was born abt. 1614 in England, and died 14 Aug 1688 in Hartford, CT. He married ________ _______ bef. 1639 in prob Hartford, CT. She was born in England, and died aft. 10 Jan 1660/61 in Hartford, CT.

Joseph Easton emigrated to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1634, taking up residence in Cambridge, where he was made freeman 4 March 1634/5. He had removed to Hartford by 1639, where in the land inventory of February 1639/40 he held nineteen parcels: two acres with a dwelling house, other outhouses, yards and gardens on the south side of the highway; three acres, one rood and eighteen perches of land; thirty perches in the Little Meadow; three acres and three roods in the South Meadow; four acres of swamp in the Great Swamp; four acres of swamp on the east side of the Great River; twelve acres of woodland; two acres of swamp also on the east side of the Great River; six acres, one rood of meadow in the South Meadow; two acres bought of Nathaniel Ward; three acres, one rood in the South Meadow; a home-lot of one half acre bought of Thomas Catlin; another parcel of swamp on the east side of the Great River of three acres, another two acres of swamp on the east side of the Great River; two acres on the south side of the river; four acres in the South Meadow; half an acre of land on the east side of the Great River; six acres bought from James Ensign; and another acre and a half of land on the east side of the Great River.

He was a deacon of the Hartford church, and was Constable in 1658. His inventory was taken 1 September 1688.
