The Founders of Hartford

John Sable (Savell, Sables), a proprietor “by courtesie of the town ;” big homelot in 1639 was west of what is now Lafayette St. The use of half his home-lot, and planting lot, was granted to Thomas Bliss, Dec., 1642. He was made freeman May, 1658, and prob. before that date had settled in some other place.
